Kent Kauss is the ​Manager of State Government Relations for Sempra Energy.

Kauss oversees the Government Relations department and is responsible for developing strategies involving the California Legislature and administration.

​

Prior to working at Sempra, he was the Senior Director, State Government Relations, for Pacific Gas and Electric Company for 17 years.

​

Before joining PG&E, Kauss served as the Director of the Office of Governmental Affairs for the California Public Utilities Commission and budget and fiscal work for the California State Assembly.

​

Kauss resides in Sacramento, CA where he is active in youth sports including coaching and previously served on a youth sports board. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Veterans Benefit Fund.

Kauss holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
